Winter on Mushroom Lane

It's a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms   and I'd love to see you create a winter themed card. With so many stamps and digital images available to you in the store,   you have tons of options.

I chose to work with Christmas at 16 Mushroom Lane.  Isn't this digital stamp perfect for this challenge?

The background paper was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The image was colored with Zig Markers and then die cut.  The sentiment is from the Night Before Christmas.

Don't forget to stop by everyone's blog today for more inspiration.

It's my day to post on the Basically Bare blog.  Check out my post using the Owl Embellies.

I inked the owl with several shades of brown ink from Clearsnap, then assembled the owl.  Random left over stickers created a fun sentiment.

Naughty or Nice

Hey everyone, it's a new challenge at The Crafters Challenge Blog.  Today's sponsor is Fred She Said and the challenge is to make it sparkle!

I loved this Naughty or Nice Elf  digi image, so I colored her with Coic Markers.  The coordinated sentiment was cut apart so that a piece could be added to the interior of the card.

The pattern paper is from MME and is totally sparkled up so it was perfect to use as the back drop for this little elf!

And the interior-------

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone. It's Wednesday and that means its time for a new challenge at Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps.

This week's Simple Salutations Challenge #76 is all about using non traditional Christmas colors on your Christmas cards this week.

I chose to create a 4" square card this week used the Holiday Tags set with some pink and gray papers (love this combination).  I stamped branches from the Joyous Seasons set directly on the background paper, adding a few Robins Nest Dew Drops.  Santa was stamped on an oval die cut and the sentiment was added across the top of the card.

Better Not Pout

Hey everyone, it's a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms   and Frances would like us to create a card inspired by a Christmas Carol.

Working with the Night Before Christmas stamp set, I found this music sheet that I could use as a background.  The December calendar worked well as the base for my sentiment "Better not pout", which as you know comes from the Christmas song - Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Just for you Tags

Hi everyone, it's a new challenge on the  Oozak blog  and we'd love to see your  creations using something new and something old.  I needed some tags so I that's what I created.

The "old" is the Justrite Stampers I have had for awhile.  The "new" is the Spellbinders wreath die I recently received.

These are pretty easy to make too. Just emboss the tag with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and ink it with black ink.  Stamp the sentiment and die cut the wreath.  Assemble two layers of wreaths, adhere around the sentiments.   To simulate the berries, I used Robin's Nest Dew Drops, adhering them with the Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampin Up
Embossing:  Cuttlebug
Stamps: Justrite Stapers
Ink: Clearsnap
Dies: Spellbinders
Staples: Tim Holtz
Adhesive: ScraPerfect
Dew Drops: Robin's Nest

Solace

Good morning everyone.  It's Thomas Kinkade week at Cornish Heritage Farms.

This week I'm using  The Forest Chapel   stamp which is another incredibly detailed stamp.  I stamped the image with Clearsnap's Blackbird  Chalk Ink, then I added touches of color with Zig Markers.

Ranger Antique Linen and Broken China Distress Inks were used over the image to provide a twilight effect. Walnut Ink was used along the edges of the image and the card.  Then the completed image was matted with brown and blue cardstock to help accentuate the flowing stream.

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone. It's Wednesday and that means its time for a new challenge at Marks Finest Papers and Stamps     Come on and try them, you'll love them and there is a chance to win some awesome stamps from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps.

This week's Simple Salutations Challenge #74 is all about creating masculine birthday cards.  I used theTiger and Time sets to create this card.

This card came together quickly by using the same papers and inks.  I stamped the Tiger on Kraft cardstock using Ranger Walnut Stain and gently inked the edges with additional Walnut Stain.  The "sorry" sentiment was stamped directly on an oval die cut.  Happy Birthday was stamped on cream cardstock, inked with Walnut Stain and mounted on Kraft cardstock.  It was then added tot he oval with pop dots for dimension.

Santa's List

It's a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms   and since December 4 is Santa's List Day, Frances would like us to create a card inspired by Santa himself!  There are so many options here.

I chose to work with the Night Before Christmas stamp set, just adding some color to the perimeter of the image and the leaves on the sentiment.

To emphasize the image, I scored the cardstock above and below the image.  Since I used Core-dinations cardstock, the scoring allowed the under color to show through.

I am loving the digital images available at Cornish Heritage Farms.   When I saw Laura in the store, I  knew she'd be perfect for this card.  She appears to be walking along and thinking of someone far away.

Spellbinders Platinum Party Blog Hop - Day 2

Hi everyone.  I am so excited to be participating in the Spellbinders Platinum Party blog hop.  Be sure to start at the Spellbinders blog to see all the participants for each day. Remember, you must visit all the participating blogs to be eligible for the grand prize.

Photo: **EXCITING NEWS** 2 DAY EVENT! Platinum Party Blog Hop! | We'll be featuring our Platinum Preferred Product Partners and giving YOU a chance to win some great prizes! Please, share the news with your friends. Here's the details: http://bit.ly/PPPParty

I received some new dies from Spellbinders and some wonderful stamps from The Stamp Doctor.  Did you know that The Stamp Doctor creates many of their stamps to work with Spellbinders dies? And did you know that Spellbinders creates The Stamp Doctor dies?   Check out what I've been able to do with products from these wonderful companies.

Merry Christmas Card

I used the Spellbinders 2013 Heirloom Ornament die.  It's the perfect die to create cards with.  Just line up the largest  die on the folded edge of the cardstock and run it through your Grand Calibur. A perfectly shaped card has been created in no time.

Die cut the next layer from red cardstock, then stamp the sentiment - it fits perfectly around the edge of the ornament!  Cut the next size die from red cardstock and adhere to the larger ornament.  Die cut a reindeer and ink it before removing it from the die (love this effect).  Add to the top ornament with Glue Dots so that it is slightly raised from the surface.  Now die cut the Holly Twigs and Leaves, inking them before removing them from their dies. Add them to the side with foam adhesives for dimension.

Tie a ribbon to the largest ornament and add this piece to the card front.

Die cut the 3rd die from white cardstock and add to the interior of the card.  Stamp a sentiment from The Stamp Doctor inside and adhere.

Keep Your Spirit Bright

This next card uses my Scor-Buddy to create a gate fold card.  Simply cut cardstock to 5 1/2" x 11" and score at 2 3/4".  Rotate the card and score again at 2 3/4".  Fold inward.

Add assorted pattern papers to the front, inking first with ColorBox Warm Red Chalk Ink.  Die cut a  red and smaller white ornament from the 2013 Heirloom Ornament die using the 2nd and 3rd dies, stamping the StampDoctor sentiment on the white one.  Adhere together. Tie ribbon to the top ornament and adhere to the left side of the card only.

Die cut the 2 wreaths and bows from Spellbinders' new Holly Wreath die and be sure to emboss the top layer.  Using a dauber, ink all the pieces with ColorBox Guacamole Chalk Ink, then assemble the wreath, offsetting it slightly so you can see both layers.

Using Glue Dots, center the wreath  on top of the stamped ornament.

Add some bling with the Best Glue Ever to create the berries on the wreath.

Noel Outhouse

Hey everyone, it's a new challenge at The Crafters Challenge Blog.  Today's sponsor is Rick St. Dennis and the challenge is metal.

I found this metal paper in my stash - it must be at least 7 years old!!!!!  The store that sold it went out of business a long time ago and I knew I'd use it sometime.  Well that time has come!

It did seem a little plain until I scored the metal with my Scor-pal - wow what a difference that made - it really brought the metal to life.  I tied a ribbon around it before adding it to the card front.

The image is the Noel Outhouse, which I thought was too cute, all decked out with it's own holiday flair!  I colored the image with Copic Markers, then die cut it, adding it to the card front with foam adhesives for dimension.

Give Thanks

It's a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms   and I'd love to see you create a Thanksgiving card.

I chose to work with the Fall Harvest  rubber stamps.  This collection has 18 assorted stamps and can be used for all your fall themed projects.

I created the background for the card by stamping the Gingham Backgrounder Stamp  on orange cardstock.  Using brown ink, I purposely did not ink up the entire stamp, opting for a very distressed look. Once stamped, I randomly tore the edges and then inked around the entire piece with more brown ink.

I stamped all the elements in brown and orange ink and embossed each with clear embossing powder before fussy cutting them.  A ribbon tied around the card adds to the fall look.

Don't forget to stop by everyone's blog today for more inspiration.

Winter Wonderland

Good morning everyone, it's a wonderful day for a blog hop. I am thrilled to be participating with the teams from Scor-Pal and Magnolia-licious.

If you are just joining this hop, please start at the Magnolia Challenge Blog and get all the details, then follow us as we show you some wonderful projects.  There are prizes to win, so be sure to follow along closely, pick up the secret letters as you pass by and comment on everyone's post.  You are going to be amazed at the projects that have been created for this hop!

You should have arrived here from  Julie's blog.

My project is quick and easy, but was lots of fun to make.  And who doesn't need a new ornament for their tree?

Using my Scor-pal, I began my project by creating a rosette from Graphic 45 pattern paper. Once I had the strips cut, I scored each at 1/2" increments, then folded to create the larger rosette. To create the smaller rosette, I cut the strips smaller and then scored at 1/4" increments.

Mimi, Betsy and Snowy were stamped on Cryogen White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored with Copic Markers. The image was fussy cut and Scor-tape was used to adhere the elements together.   See, I told you it was quick, didn't I?

Now, onto the rest of the hop.

My letter is A.

Be sure to stop by all the blogs on the hop and gather all the clues. If you get lost along the way start at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog.

Your next stop on the hop is Patti Jo's blog.

Happy hopping.

Christmas Elf

Hi everyone, it's a new challenge at Oozak.com and we'd love to see your  Holiday themed creations.

I chose this awesome LaLaLand stamp - Marci Elf - to work with today.  She is just so sweet and is perfect for all your holiday creations.

Using my Scor Buddy, I created a gate fold card, then added pattern paper to the front of the card.  A Spellbinders die was cut from white cardstock and adhered to the left side creating the perfect mat for Marci.  A smaller mat of Graphic 45 pattern paper added a touch of Christmas green.

Marci was colored with assorted Copic Markers, then fussy cut.  For a little more dimension, I placed foam adhesives behind her.

For the interior, I cut Graphic 45 pattern paper to fit, then added a white mat on top with the sentiment.

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone. It's Wednesday and that means I'm hosting a new challenge at Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps.    Come on and try the challenges.  I think you'll find them fun and challenging plus there is a chance to win some awesome stamps from Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps.

This week's Simple Salutations Challenge #71 is to create a feminine birthday card.    I love this Butterfly stamp - it's great for creating backgrounds.

I created the background using an assortment of inks from Tim Holtz, then running my paper through the inks.  Then I stamped the butterflies on top.  Love how the patches of color created in the background show through the butterflies.

I fussy cut around the top of the butterflies, matted with yellow cardstock, then added to a pink frame before adding to the card front.  I left the top open so I could insert a tag inside.

I also inked the edges of the tag then added my sentiment in the center.

Thanks for stopping by today.
