RRROAR!!!!!

Hi everyone. It's Wednesday and that means its time for a new challenge at Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps.

This week's Simple Salutations Challenge  #64  is Paper Piecing.  I chose to paper piece my background by using assorted scraps of paper to create a fun background.  Starting with a sheet of blue cardstock, I randomly cut strips of paper to fit.

Adding a strip of white to the top, I repeatedly stamped Happy Birthday.  Then across the bottom I repeatedly stamped RRROAR!

Mr. Dino was fussy cut and then added with foam adhesives to a circle of white which had been embossed and lightly inked.  The adhesives give him a hint of dimension.

Gnome Sweet Gnome

Hey everyone, it's a new challenge at The Crafters Challenge Blog.  Today's sponsor is Dr. Digi and the challenge is to use die cuts or punches.

So I found this Gnome Sweet Gnome image and decided to color it with Copic Markers before using Spellbinders dies.  Since I wanted the image as the focal point, I printed it to fit the front of a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card, then added a larger die cut mat behind it.

Mushroom City

Good morning everyone.

It's a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms, and Frances has asked us to create a project with  mushrooms.  Well, this is an easy one - have you see all the Mushroom digital images in the store????  They are soooooo cute.

I used Mushroom  Lane #28, coloring with bright Copic markers.  I wanted a fun, whimsy look to my card.

After fussy cutting, I inked the edges with Ranger Distress Ink in Antique Linen and placed it as the focal element of my card.

Spellbinders Grand Ovals were the perfect size to hold my Mushroom.

Mix'd Media Birthday Tag

Good morning everyone.   I love these wonderful Prima doll stamps by Julie Nutting.   There are rather large stamps (about 7") and I wasn't too sure what I'd create with them.  After seeing what Julie created with her stamps, I thought a mix'd media tag would be fun to create.

Start by creating a tag, slightly larger than the stamp.
Stamp a Birthday background stamp to cover the tag using Top Boss Watermark Ink.
Add Opalescent Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

Using a brayer, add ColorBox Tangerine Ink to tag.  The embossed words will resist the ink and the ink will cover the tag.  Use a baby wipe to create a watercolor effect by gently rubbing it across the tag.  Some of the ink will be removed from the tag and the embossed words will stand out.

Distress the edges of the tag and add Chocolate ink around the edges, moving the color into the tag with the ColorBox Color Blender until the desired look has been achieved.

Die cut cardstock strips for the edges of the tag and ink with Tangerine Ink.
Lightly rub the die cuts with a baby wipe and then add Chocolate Ink.
Add to the sides of the tag and mount the tag on brown cardstock.

Stamp the doll on white cardstock using black ink.  Stamp image again on pattern paper.
Fussy cut image, then fussy cut the dress and adhere to the main image.
Ink edges with Chocolate Ink.
Color headband with Pumpkin Smooch Ink.
Stamp wings on cream cardstock with Wicked Black Ink.
Lightly ink with Chocolate Ink using ColorBox Color Blender, then adhere to the tag.
Adhere the doll to the tag with foam adhesives for dimension.

Die cut Trellis from cream cardstock, gently rub with a baby wipe then add Chocolate Ink to provide a water color effect.
Die cut flourishes,  flowers and leaves from assorted papers.
Ink all with Tangerine and/or Chocolate Ink before assembling.
Add flowers to the trellis and add rhinestones to the center of each.

So what do you think?

Tailgating!!!!

Hi everyone. It's Wednesday and that means its time for a new challenge at Mark's Finest Papers Stamps.

This week's Simple Salutations Challenge #63  is to create an autumn/leaves project.

I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I came across the Tailgate stamp set.  Autumn is a start to the football season, so what better way to celebrate than by tailgating!!!

I created the background by stamping the footballs randomly over the paper.  The banners and footballs were fussy cut and added to the card front with foam adhesives for dimension.

Friendship

Good morning everyone. I am loving all the stamps that are available at Cornish Heritage Farms.

Trying something different, I decided to use fabric on my card.  The card base is a sheet of fabric paper from SEI and the top layers are fabric to which I added "Steam A Seam".  This allows the fabric to become stiff enough to use with die cut machines and even aids in fussy cutting.  So it was quite easy to die cut the middle layer and fussy cut the top layer.

The sentiment is from Ornamental Beauty stamped in Clearsnap Ink and embossed with Clear embossing powder.

Witchy

Hi everyone, it's a new challenge at Oozak and we'd love to see your fall themed creations.

The theme this month is anything goes with a fall theme.

I used this awesome stamp, coloring her with Copic Markers.  The background was created with  a Cuttlebug embossing folder which I inked to bring out the spider web.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop by the Oozak blog for more inspiration and to enter the challenge.

Autumn Blessings

Hey everyone, Steph here today.  The teams of  Scor-pal and  Authentique have teamed up to bring you some fun projects this week.  I used Authentique's  Seasons: Autumn  papers for my projects.  This is a beautiful assortment of papers, patterns and colors.

I decided  to create an easel card using these fun double sided papers.

Cut Autumn 3 pattern paper 5 1/2" x 11".
Score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".
Fold to create the card, then fold again creating the easel.
Cut another piece of Autumn 3 paper 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and adhere to create the card.

Cut a number of Enhancements to embellish the front of the card.
Add a 1" strip across the Enhancements.
Add a cardstock sticker element on top.
Cut a 5" square of Autumn 2 paper and adhere to the base.

Add a 1" strip  to the base of the card with foam adhesives to hold the card upright.

Next, I created a gift card holder.

Create a 5" x 6 1/2" card from brown cardstock.
Score 1/2" around the card.
Cut a panel of Autumn 1 paper to fit within the scored areas.
Add a tag and several matted stickers to finish the front.

Inside, cut Autumn 1 and Autumn 2 papers to fit.
On the left side, create a pocket page and insert a coupon.
On the right side, add Autumn 1 paper - it has plenty of room to write a note to the recipient.

Have a Wonderful Day

Hi everyone. It's Wednesday and that means its time for a new challenge at Mark's Finest Papers Stamps.

This week's Simple Salutations Challenge  #62 this week is Thinking of You.  This amazing Lotus Blossoms stamp set was perfect to create this card.  I created the background of the card with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, then inked the edges with brown in before matting on brown cardstock.

The image was colored with Zig Markers and then fussy cut and placed on a coordinating circle which was matted with a larger scalloped circle.  The colors really helped bring out the colors of the Lotus Blossom.  The sentiment was stamped and placed before adhering the circles.

Wouldn't this be a great card for a friend?  Why not create several today to have on hand.

Emma's birthday

Hey everyone, it's a new challenge at The Crafters Challenge Blog.   Today our sponsor is Fred She Said and we've been requested not to use pattern paper.

I  just loved Emma with her birthday cake so I created a background using a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and Clearsnap Chalk Ink.

Emma was colored with Copic Markers and then fussy cut before adhering her to the card front.

If you can't ............

Hey everyone.  It's a beautiful Saturday here in New York.

I hope you've been following along with the blog hop between the Clearsnap design team and the Kellycraft design team this week.  There are some  fun projects on both blogs.  Be sure to stop by  to see what's happening.

I just thought I'd post another card I created using these fun phrases from Kellycraft!

I paired the phrase with an American Art stamp and since I wanted a really shiny look for my card, I used ColorBox Mix'd Media Inx in Black and then embossed with black embossing powder .  This ink has a longer drying time and allowed me to stamp both items separately and then add embossing powder.

I added a touch of Smooch Accent Ink to her jewelry and lips for a little added color.

Thanks for stopping by today.

So Sorry

Hi everyone.  It's Wednesday and that means its time for a new challenge at Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps.

This week's Simple Salutations Challenge   # 61 is Time and what is more perfect that a background stamp of watches!!!!  This stamp set is approximately  4" x 6" and is called Pocket Watches.  I inked the stamp in black, then colored the clocks with assorted Zig Markers.

Picking up colors from the markers, I added 5 layers of cardstock before assembling the card.  I love how the colors work together.  The sentiment, included with this stamp set, was stamped on white in blue ink and then matted with 2 colors of cardstock.

Dirty Words

Ha ha ha.  Did the title of this post get you wondering what I was doing?

Well, the Clearsnap design team is blog hopping  with the Kellycraft design team this week and boy have we got some fun projects to show you.  Be sure to stop by both blogs to see what's happening.

The stamps I received from Kellycraft were hysterical and knew I immediately that I would pair this phrase with my American Art Girl stamps.

The image and words were stamped in black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  A little touch of Smooch Accent Ink was added to her jewelry (love this stuff).  Doesn't she remind you of Marilyn Monroe or perhaps Marlena Dietrich?  The words that used to come from their mouths.......

The little lady was die cut into a circle and then matted with a larger scalloped circle.  I cut the sentiment to fit inside the label and inked the edges with brown ink so it stands out.  For a little dimension, I tied the ribbon around the right side of the card before adding the sentiment with foam adhesives.

Thanks for stopping by today.  And don't forget to stop by the Clearsnap blog and the Kellycraft blog for more fun projects.

Hello Dear Friend

Good morning everyone.  It's Thomas Kinkade week at Cornish Heritage Farms and this week I've used this amazing Forest Chapel stamp.  It's an awesome stamp.

Using glossy cardstock, I stamped the image with Clearsnap's Blackbird Chalk Ink and allowed it to dry before moving on.  Glossy cardstock has a bit more drying time than normal cardstock.

I added color to the image using Zig Markers, then I then went over the entire image with a baby wipe to help blend in the colors.

The sentiment is from Script Essential Expression.  I used some Coral cardstock as a mat to help bring out the colors in the image.

Thanks for stopping by today.
