Robins Nest blog hop

Hi everyone.

It's time for a blog hop with the members of the Robin's Nest design team.  I love the collection of papers and dew drops available in the store and since this is a Garden Blog Hop, I knew exactly what papers I'd be using.

Using the solid side, I selected the Spring Stripes Glitter Cardstock for the base of my card.  The top layer is the Spring Flowers Glitter Cardstock.  I love the assorted styles and colors of flowers on this paper.  I inked each piece with brown ink before mounting them to the card.

I fussy cut several flowers from this cardstock and adhered them on top of the card.   Using the Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect, I adhered silver Dew Drops to the flower centers - the perfect accent pieces.   A sentiment stamped on the strip just finished off the card.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Don't forget to visit everyone's blog and see what they've created.

Quick and Easy Easter cards

It's time for a quick and easy Easter cards using the Scor-Pal.  Be sure to go to the Scor-Pal blog and see out what the designers have been creating this week.

Creating a quick card is easy using your Scor-Pal or Scor-Buddy.   Using a 5 1/2" square card, I scored 1/2" around all corners to create a "box" into which I placed some pattern paper.  Then I die cut some Easter Eggs.

Check out those Easter Eggs!!   I used my Scor-Buddy to add score lines on the eggs then I quickly colored between the scored lines with ink.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Elegant Happy Birthday Card

Hi everyone.  It's Wednesday and that means its time for a new challenge at Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps.

This week's Simple Salutations challenge #90 is to create an elegant card and the determination of what is elegant is up to you.

I chose to work with "on the Town" stamp set.  I believe this lady is truly elegant.  I stamped her with Clearsnap Wicked Black ink and used MyFirst ColorBox purple ink for the sentiment.

I paired her with some pretty Robin's Nest papers.  I love that the paper is double sided and sturdy enough to use as a card.

Don't forget to enter your card here for a chance to win some stamps.

Sending Well Wishes

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms.  Kristine has asked us to create a stamped background.

I used the Woodgrain backgrounder stamp, inking it with brown ink and stamping in on white cardstock.  Using the woodgrain on the horizontal, I created the base of my card.

The image is a digital one from the store - Cat in a flower pot, colored with Coic Markers and then die cut - he's so cute!

The sentiment is from Script Essential Expressions which was added over some sheer May Arts ribbon.

Happy Birthday Dear Friend

I posted this tutorial on the Clearsnap blog last month.

I created my own pattern paper.  It's really a fun to create your own pattern paper by combining Stephanie Barnard Sprays and a ColorBox Art Screen.

Spritz several colors of the inks on a craft sheet, then spritz with water to give it a little more fluidity.  Using watercolor paper, drag the paper across the craft sheet.  While you can use cardstock, this process works best when using watercolor paper since it is sturdier than cardstock.

After running the paper through the inks, heat set before proceeding further, being sure to heat both sides of the paper.

Using the Stripes Art Screen, ink with Twinkle embossing ink and then emboss with Pearl embossing powder.

Spritz the entire piece with water and crumple the paper - the water makes it easier to crumple the paper without tearing it.  Carefully straighten the paper, heat set and lightly ink with green ink.  Tear the edges of the paper and adhere to brown cardstock.

Die cut the flower from a left over piece of the watercolor paper and the base from brown cardstock.  Adhere to the card with foam adhesives for dimension. Stamp and emboss the sentiment and add  over the flower with foam adhesives.

What paper can you create with your supplies?

Friends are treasures

Hi everyone.  It's snowing again here and I am so wishing for spring.  It's been months since we've seen the sun so I thought I'd help move it along by creating a bright, sunny card.

I used several of the new Ann Butler quilting stamps from Unity Stamp Co. - 2" Doily Stamps, and used Ann Butler's new line of ColorBox Crafter's Inks.  I used Aquamarine on white cardstock,  cutting it to size and matting with black cardstock for some pop.

To create the flower,  I stamped 6 blocks of Tangelo and 6 blocks of Sunshine using the same stamp set.  Then I  used a floral die to cut the flowers.  I wasn't very particular where I placed the die, and I  love how the medium flower picked up both colors of ink.

I molded the flower and then matted it on a black circle before adding it to the card.  The sentiment was stamped on a left over piece of stamped cardstock

Christmas in March with Scor-Pal

Well, it's March 1st and it still feels and looks like winter.  We are on board to getting another 12" of snow tomorrow.  Brrrrr!!!!!!

This month's challenge at Scor-Pal is to create a Christmas card using the Scor-Pal with more than one score and die cuts.  I created a criss cross card, adding a fun Copic colored image on the front and addsed Spellbinders Pointsettias die.

Cut an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock in half, creating 2 pieces each 4 1/4" x 11.
Score each at 5 1/2" and use Scor-tape to adhere the panels together creating a 3 panel card.

Cut each flap on an angle.

Cut pattern paper to fit the front panels.
Adhere the flaps together forming the card.

Stamp and color the image, then die cut.
Mat with a larger die cut and add to front of card.
Die cut, emboss and ink pointsettias, adding to the criss cross card.

Cut a panel to fit inside.
Add another pointsettia to the corner.

Thanks for stopping by today.  And don't forget to enter your card in this month's challenge.
