It's Graduation Day!

It's a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms and since June is graduation month, I'd love to see your graduation cards.

I used my Cricut Expression to create the card, then stamped (celebrate) repeatedly across the bottom portion of the card.

(Celebrate) is from the Birthday Greetings stamp set, a wonderful set of  10 greetings that can be used for non birthday cards too.

Knick Knack Holder

Hi everyone, today is my day for posting on the So Suzy blog.

I've used the So Suzy Wish stamp, stamping it with ColorBox Crafter's Ink in Snow and then embossing it.  I love how it stands out on the black background.  One word sometimes makes the perfect statement!

I painted the metal with Amethyst Iridescents from Earth Safe Finishes.  Then I added a touch of color to the flowers.  I can now use this to hold jewelry or silk scarves or little things I want to keep in plain site.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Plan a Spa Day

Hi everyone.  It's time to pamper yourself or perhaps some friends.  Nothing says pampering more than a SPA day!  But sometimes you just can't get away, so why not plan a SPA day for yourself.  Or perhaps plan one for someone who needs a little TLC.

Bath beads or bath salts are a perfect way to enjoy some quiet time relaxing in the tub.  You can buy a bottle of bath beads or bath salts or you can make up your own assortment of bath beads or bath salts in assorted colors and styles.

I die cut the letters using my Cricut to cut vinyl.  I then placed the jar in etchall dip 'n etch for 15 minutes.  When I removed the letters and rinsed the jar, you can see the negative space within the frosted glass jar.

I then decorated the jar with ribbon above the lettering as well as around the neck of the jar to made it really feminine and pretty.  Then I tied on a little metal scoop and placed a cork stopper in the top.

I think this would be a great idea for aromatherapy too.

Do you know someone who needs some TLC?  Perhaps a new Mom or someone who has been ill.  I think this would totally cheer them up.

Thanks for stopping by.

If I had wings........

Hi everyone, I've been playing with some wonderful products from Earth Safe Finishes.

As you can see from the oval area around the sentiment, this frame was originally purple - not a color I really wanted for this project.

To begin, I painted Pearl Iridescents on the frame.

While still wet, I painted on Pearl Iridescents Powder in Sky. The paint acted as the adhesive.  The frame has now changed to from purple blue - a much better color. Once dry, excess powder easily brushed away.

The sentiment was stamped and cut to fit inside the frame.

So next time you are looking to change a color, pull out the Iridescents and see what you can create.

Beach themed card with Makin's Clay

Hi everyone, it's finally summer.  After the long cold winter we've had, it's awesome to feel the sun on my face.

I created lots of fun seashells using Makin's Clay clay and tools.  Earlier this month I created a canvas for the Makin's Clay blog and, since I had lots of left over elements, I decided to use them to create a card.

I found this watery paper in my stash and decided to use it as my card base.  I used gesso to add mesh to the left side of my card and added the Makin's Clay shells on top.  The sentiment is from Rubber Dance Art Stamps and was perfect to use for this beach themed card.

Since I knew the card would need to be hand delivered because of the dimension, I also created a coordinating envelope.  Using Rubber Dance Art Stamps, I randomly stamped around the envelope and added an address panel in the center.  I again added mesh to the left corner with gesso and placed a fish and several more shells on top.

Perfect for hand delivering to the recipient.

What will you create with Makin's Clay today?

Upcycled Vase

Hi everyone, today I'm excited to show you my newest project using products from Earth Safe Finishes.  They are the maker of some amazing products and I am thrilled to be working some of them.

Check out this upcycled vase I created.  Would you believe that it began as a glass vase - I was totally able to transform it using Chalk It Up paints and Crackle.

Please stop by the blog to see how I've transformed this glass vase into a fabulous project and see all the wonderful projects created by the team!

Hello, friend

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge  at Cornish Heritage Farms and we'd love to see your cards with cats!!!

I've used the 3 Christmas Kittens Digital Image.  Aren't they sweet?  Using Copic Markers, I colored the middle one just a little bit darker than the other two for contrast.

The background was embossed and lightly inked before the image was fussy cut and added to the card.  The sentiment is from the Friends Expression stamp set.

Wishing Well

Hi everyone, have you seen the stamps from So Suzy stamps yet?  Check out the store.

Today, I created a different shaped card using Spellbinders dies.  The Wishing Well was stamped and then the layer was die cut to fit the card.  I lightly colored portions of the wishing well with Copic Markers, then added FlowerSoft to finish the design.

Another layer was die cut for the interior of the card and a simple sentiment was stamped inside.

Paulie's Adventures

Paulie loves to be free.  He loves to be off leash and we take him as often as possible to a nature preserve near us.  There he is free to be a dog and chase everything he sees.

I created an 8" x 8" layout using one photo and assorted papers from Graphic 45 plus inks from Clearsnap.

On the columnar paper, I used the Wordsworth Rollagraph Wheel with Dark Cashmere Decades Ink.  On the dotted paper I used Venetian Lace Decades Ink.

All the papers were matted and assembled on the black panel.  Staples were used to add a grunge effect as well as some dimension.

The letters were die cut and inked with Venetian Lace, then added to the panel.  A butterfly was stamped with Dark Cashmere Ink and further inked with Venetian Lace and Triumphant Red.

A Unity stamp was inked with Antique Moss and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The sentiment was torn and matted and then stapled to the layout.

Bucket o' Summer Fun

What's more fun than watching a child having fun in the summer?   How about having a child open a bucket o' summer fun?  Just fill a bucket with coloring books, crayons, glow sticks, and bubbles and watch the fun happen.

But first why not decorate the bucket?

I've used Crafter's Ink from Clearsnap for Ann Butler in Deep Woods as well as EZ-De's Flourish stamps from Kellycraft.

Using Crafter's Ink, stamp each letter on the bucket and then carefully heat set.

Fill the bucket with all kinds of goodies and let the kids have fun seeing and playing with what's inside.  And, it's a great way to hold all the summer things you need to keep the kids occupied whether it be at the beach or in the car heading to the beach.

How will you keep the kids entertained this summer?

Friendship and the beach

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge  at Cornish Heritage Farms and we'd love to see your cards with an ocean/water theme.

I used the Netting Backgrounder stamp to create my background and then spritzed it with ColorBox Spritzers in Moody Blue.  Gauze was placed along the left side with some gesso and clay shells were placed on top.

The friendship phrase is from the Friend Expressions stamp set and was placed on top with foam adhesives.

The shells were made with clay from Makin's Clay.  I mixed white, green, brown and black clays together and created the shells with the Sea Shells Push Mold.  They fit nicely with this week's theme.

Wedding Season

It's June and time for a new Scor-Pal challenge.  This month we are creating wedding projects.  Remember to upload your project to the Scor-Pal blog.  We'd love to see your wedding themed projects with more than one score.

This wedding card is it's own envelope and is easily created with the help of your Scor-Pal.  I've used some lovely papers from the Robin's Nest to create a one of a kind wedding card.

Using 12" x 12" cardstock, score at 3" and 9".
Rotate and score again at 3" and 9".

Cut away the corners as shown.
Fold on the scored lines.

Corner round the edges.

Cut coordinating paper to fit the center square.

Create a card to fit within the center square.
Score around the card.
Tie sheer ribbon to the card.
Stamp sentiment from So Suzy Stamps and adhere to center.

Tie ribbon around the envelope.
Using one of the corner cut outs from step one, corner round the edges and add to the center
Die cut Mr. and Mrs. and adhere on top.

And, a look at the reverse side.
Tie additional ribbon for some fullness.

Thanks for stopping by today.

So Suzy Blog Hop

Hi everyone, it's time to introduce the newest So Suzy stamps, meet the new design team  and begin a new challenge so we are doing a blog hop today.

I wanted to keep the card simple so it could be used for different  occasions.  The paper is Graphic 45 and Congratulations was stamped directly on the card.

Dew drops were placed to the left of the sentiment to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to comment and visit everyone's blog for a chance to win prizes.

Miss You with So Suzy Samps

Suzanne Babb-Moore's photo.

Hi everyone, it's new release time at So Suzy Stamps.

Love this little guy just sitting and fishing from the dock.  To me, he's happy but he appears to be waiting for someone to join him.  I began with a card of blue and added a 2nd layer of gray which was die cut using Spellbinders dies.  I stamped my little fisherman and colored him with Copic markers.  After die cutting, I inked around him.

Since I believe he is waiting for someone, the Miss You sentiment was perfect.

Congratulations Grad

Hi everyone, June is the month for graduations.

Art Screens are a wonderful way to create backgrounds for your projects.  I've used the Waves Art Screen by ColorBox for Ann Butler.  All inks will work well, but I chose to use ColorBox Crafters Ink in Stone and ColorBox Crafter's by Ann Butler in Canyon.

I used the same inks to stamp the sentiment, then used a Spellbinders die to create the banner.  While still in the die, I inked the sentiment.

A graduation cap was added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today.
