Hello Autumn with Joy Clair

Hi everyone, I've created another card using Joy Clair Stamps.

I used the Hello Autumn stamp set for my card.   Love the variety of designs and phrases on this set.

I wanted to keep the card in fall colors so I used browns, yellow and oranges.  The background is a Cuttlebug embossing folder and a trio of leaves were fussy cut and added to the card's center.

A strip of acorns was added to the card and "Hello" was stamped and punched and added to the corner.

I love this stamp set.

Wishing you Christmas Cheer

Hi everyone, today is my final day for posting on the So Suzy blog.  It's been a fun year and I've really enjoyed working with So Suzy's stamps.

Today I'm using a fun New Year  stamp.  Perfect for Christmas and New Years projects.

I created the background of my card using ColorBox Crafter's Inks for Ann Butler in Canyon and Deep Woods in conjunction with the Stars Art Screen from ColorBox.  Then I die cut the Spellbinders Christmas tree and added it on top.  The phrase was stamped and cut in half so it could be used on the front of the card as well as the interior of the card.

For the interior, I added a solid background panel, then placed the phrase on top.

Perfect card to send to someone wishing them both Christmas and New Year cheer.

Pop on over to the So Suzy blog and see the other stamps I've used.

Halloween Candy Corn

Hi everyone, it's almost Halloween and it's time for Halloween candy.

Rather than hand out the normal Halloween candy as party favors, I found some test tubes that were big enough to hold candy corn.   So I decided to dress them up with the help of Makin's Clay clay.

I used black and white clay, rolling them out with Makin's Clay roller from the Roller and Cutter set till they were thin enough to cut with Makin's Clay Halloween Cutters.  Then I cut an assortment of  ghosts, cats and witch hats.

Using Helmar's Tacky Glue, they easily and quickly adhered to the test tubes.

I think the kids will love them.   What do you think?

Autumn Bliss with Joy Clair stamps

Hi everyone.  I am so excited to be a part of a new stamp company's first design team.  Joy Clair creates high quality clear stamps in a wide assortment of styles and designs.   They stamp really well with clean edges.
http://www.joyclair.com/

I used the Hello Autumn stamp set for my card.   This stamp set has lots of images as well as tons of sentiments.  I really loved the leaves so I stamped them three times and inked them with the colors of fall.  To make them more realistic, I lightly spritzed them with water and crushed them in my hands.  As they dried, they uncurled but retained the fold lines.  Some more ink about the edges made them more realistic.

The phrase was the perfect mate to the leaves so I slightly popped it on top of the leaves.

Day of the Dead with Clearsnap Inks

From the stories articles and stories I have read, Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, and acknowledged around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on family and friends who gather to remember those who have died, and help support their spiritual journey.  It's a holiday that is more festive than morbid, where families decorate the graves of loved ones with their favorite foods and sugar skulls.

In honor of Day of the Dead, I've decorated a simple paper mache skull with lots of bright fun ink colors from Clearsnap, along with assorted flowers and bling!

I began by painting gesso on the skull because I wanted the ink colors to take center stage.  After all Day of the Dead is about color!  Once the skull was dry, I used the new  Marisa Pawelko Modern Surrealist Surfacez Inks from Clearsnap to add color to my skull.  These inks come in lovely colors such as Paradise Pink, Tinky Teal, YOLO Yellow, and Charming Chartreuse which were perfect colors for my skull.

I pounced the ink pads directly over the skull in a random manner.  I didn't want to completely cover the skull but I did want the colors to stand out as well as interact with each other.  I started with yellow, then green and then blue.  Pink was the final color I used.

To finish, I added some hot pink swirly bling about the top.  Large flowers were added to the eye sockets with smaller flowers and large brads and glued in place.  I also added one to the center of the skull.  To finish I added diamond shaped dew drops to the teeth.

What do you think?  Will you create something for this holiday?

Bird mail Anniversary

Hi everyone, It's a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms, and we love to see anniversary cards.  I've used Bird Mail digital stamp from CHF.  This is such a fun image with lots of possibilities and since he can't be home for their anniversary, he sent her bird mail.

I colored the image with Copic Markers.  Because I wanted to die cut it into an oval shape, I carefully cut around the leaves before die cutting so they'd stand out.

The background was created with the Wood Grain Backgrounder stamp which was inked with brown ink and then stamped onto a lighter brown cardstock.  Love how realistic my background looks.

Before assembling the card, I tied some coordinating ribbon on the left side, then popped the image on top with foam adhesives.

Happy Haunting Cat

Hi everyone, it's almost Halloween so why not get those Halloween decorations ready.

I've used etchall etching crème on a bottle to create a fun and creepy decorative soda bottle for Halloween punch.  This is a great way to showcase your creepy party beverages!

Using a stencil of a cat, place it on a bottle then cover the bottle with etchall etching crème.  Be sure to cover the entire bottle, then let it sit for 15 minutes.  After the allotted time has expired, remove the etching crème and put it back in the bottle.  Etchall is reusable so you can create a ton of projects with one container.

Once the etching crème has been removed, rinse off the bottle.

Fill the bottle with Halloween punch and the cat really stands out.

I wrapped ribbon around the bottle neck, then added a Happy Haunting tag using a stamp from So Suzy stamps.  To finish, I added some bling around the bottle.

Happy Halloween.

Happy Harvest

It's a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms, and we'd love to see the colors of fall on your card.

I've used Pumpkin and Pie Digital Stamp, coloring it with Copic Markers.  For more dimension, I fussy cut the image and matted it with green cardstock and fussy cut it again.

The sentiment is from the Fall Harvest stamp set.

Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I've got a clay bra up on the Art Anthology blog today.

To create the bra, I used white clay from Makin's Clay and mixed it with Art Anthology paint.  After running the clay through a clay machine, I formed the bra over Smoothfoam which I cut in half.  I let the bra dry over the Smoothfoam for about 48 hours before decorating with lace, flowers, brads, bling and a bow.

The canvas background was created with assorted paints white washed on the canvas.  The words were added using a Prima stencil with molding paste.

Have a Fabulous Day blog hop

Join Clearsnap for World Card Making Day 2015 on a this fun, fast hop! Be sure to stop at each blog on the hop and leave a comment, pin, and more to enter to win - use the handy widget at the end of this post to enter. What are we giving away? A card maker's dream set of inks, that's what!

Hi everyone, it's Word Card Making Day and my card was inspired by the colors of fall.  Fall is officially here and the colors are changing in New York.

Begin by creating a card using the largest die of the Labels 47 die set.
Fold cardstock in half and tape the die so the top edge of the die is above the fold.

Using the next die down die cut the cream cardstock.
Use the embossing leaves only to create the background.
I lightly inked over the panel with red and green inks.

Using the Dots Rollagraph Wheel, I rolled over the panel with Warm Red Chalk Ink.
Then I added the panel to the card.

To create the leaves, I placed a Scrapbook Adhesive sheet on green cardstock.

Using left over Designer Foils, I rubbed them onto the adhesive cardstock until it was covered.

Next, place leaf dies and embossing centers on the foiled background and die cut.

And these are the leaves cut and embossed.
I lightly inked over them with Warm Red and Guacamole Chalk Inks.

I grouped the leaves to the left side of the card.
I stamped a sentiment on the small die in Warm Red Chalk Ink.

And the final card.

So, what do you love about Fall?
