Wish Big Altered Jar

Hi everyone, have you altered any jars lately?  There are so many ways you can alter jars and so many different products you can use.  Today,  I'm using clay, stamps and inks to create a wishing jar.

I formed white clay around the jar.  You don't need to be perfect, a few lumps and bumps add character to the jar.

While still wet, use several stamps and randomly stamp on the clay without ink.  You get a nice impression in the clay.

Use another stamp with ink and randomly stamp into the clay, transferring color.

Use Izink with a baby wipe to add more color around the jar.  The liquid works it's way into the impressions and the baby wipe helps move the color around the jar.

To finish, tie twine around the jar and attach a stamped tag.

Supplies:
Clay:  Makin's Clay
Stamps:  ColorBox Background Basics by Ann Butler; Wood Block Stamp
Inks:  ColorBox Crafter's by Ann Butler; ColorBox Dye Ink - Kettle,
Izink Pigment Ink - Citronella

Flea Market Journal

Hi everyone, this year is all about journals.  What will you use yours for?  What will you create your journal with?  This time, I've created a very different journal.

Check out my snapguide.

I painted the journal with Pixie Sorbet then randomly painted Minx on top.  I left some of the red journal visible.

Next I used a stencil with molding paste.

A metal embellishment from Melissa Frances  was used to decorate the front cover.  Then I fussy cut the packaging and added the pieces to decorate the front cover.

Finally I added ribbon to the spirals.

What types of journals are you creating this year?

Thanks for stopping by today.

Make Yourself Happy

Hi everyone.    Did you know that the design teams of Cornish Heritage Farms and Riley & Co. have combined?   Be sure to check out this post that explains all the fun new changes as well as the knew blog name - The Ink Spot.  Here you will find 6 stamp lines!!!  I am so excited to be continuing on the newly combined  Ink Spot design team.

This week's challenge is Animal Antics so I paired Bouncy Ball Riley with Make your parents proud.

Remember bouncing on those balls when you were a kid?  Didn't they make you happy?  They still make me happy thinking about them so the sentiment is a perfect pairing.

Riley was colored with Copic Markers and then die cut and added to the card on a pink mat.  I was in a pink frame of mind, so everything is pink!

My newest post on the Ann Butler Designs blog

Colobox Crafter's Ink work amazing on this canvas resist album.

The flowers were inked with Berry Ink, then I went over them with Sheer Pearl Iridescents to give them sheen.

The pages were inked, torn, matted.  Art screens were used with molding paste as well as inks throughout.
